Of Banana & Chocolate Chip Muffins…

Monday, November 26th, 2007

One more week til our flight home! ^_^ Yay for that. I just booked our car in for a Warrant of Fitness check on Thursday afternoon. I still haven’t vacuumed the house, which I had actually planned to do right after I finished my exams, but oh well… XD

My parents gave us a list of stuff they wanted us to bring home and to my annoyance/ dismay/ chagrin, my Dad wants a box of potato chips as well! UGH!!!! Everytime we went home he wanted a couple of boxes. It pissed the crap out of me cuz it’s fricking embarrassing going to the supermarket and asking for boxes of potato chips… >.<

On a brighter note, I made some banana and chocolate chip muffins the other day. It was the first time I used baking paper as the muffin cups and man, did they turn out weird… Oh well, at least they were still edible. ^_^

I’m rewatching Witch Hunter Robin just for fun and also to pick up some bits and pieces I didn’t really understand. The only other anime I’d like to watch now would be the dubbed version of Chobits. The show’s old but I watched the subbed version last time and didn’t finish it because it just got a little boring. The english dub, however, has Crispin Freeman (=D) and since he’s always playing serious characters it was fun listening to him play a crazy guy now. ^_^

There aren’t any new PS2 games these days, which is pretty sad. I’m looking forward to getting a PSP over the holidays though; PSP games have been disappointing as well, but there’re a few which are pretty good, like Metal Gear Solid and Syphon Filter. =D

Of Scones & Boredom…

Wednesday, November 21st, 2007

Yes, I’m bored. Still have more than one week to go before our flight home. I’m really looking forward to it (actually, to the food I’ve missed… XD) but on the other hand, I’m not liking the idea of having to work during the holidays… >.< Oh well…

I’ve finally finished watching Witch Hunter Robin; it’s such an awesome series. The storyline wasn’t that bad either, plus that whole pyrokinesis thing with Robin reminds me of the smexy Roy Mustang. I’m a fan of Robin / Amon already even though Amon’s probably like a decade or so older than her… XD I was checking out YouTube for a japanese version of an episode, just to hear how the characters sounded, and Robin’s voice was plain blah. Her english voice is definitely better; Kari Wahlgren did an awesome job with her. ^_^

I made some scones last night. That was pretty random but I was bored… I’m still bored now… =D I try to either clean the house or watch anime or bake or play VGs… It’s getting really hot here too and I took a walk to the post office today to renew our car’s registration and man, was that a bad idea… XD

Well I’ve got enough stuff for banana muffins and a devil chocolate cake (actually out of a box, mwa haha~~) but perhaps I shouldn’t go overboard with all the baking… ^_^

Random fact of the day: I made some chicken cordon bleu for dinner just now; it was hard work but they tasted so much better than the ones we get from the supermarket. No surprise, I guess, considering the amount of cheese and ham I stuffed into them! =D

Of Wolves & Witches…

Monday, November 19th, 2007

So I haven’t been posting in a while now… ^_^ Finals are over and I’m finally on holiday! This year has definitely been tough work but I’m glad I’m done with the hard part; on a slightly related note, I’ve got to do some industrial training at the end of the year as well. That’s gotta suck. >.<

Now that I’m on holiday, I’ve been watching quite a few animes. My sister and I started watching Wolf’s Rain; she hasn’t finished it since she’s been studying for her exams, but I have, and it’s actually quite a good anime. I’m starting on Witch Hunter Robin now and that seems pretty good too, except that the dubbing can get a little awkward. It’s strange to think how Soon Yie and I used to only watch subbed anime, but nowadays, we prefer the dubbed ones. =D Probably cuz we’ve been exposed to so many awesome english voice actors from video games and stuff… ^_^

I’ve been watching the first season of Ah! My Goddess in english as well. Although I didn’t really have high expectations for the english voices, they turned out not too bad in the end! All the characters were cast quite well even though one of them sounds like a shrieking cat. I tried watching Fate/Stay Night too but after 2 episodes, it was still sort of blah, so I dropped it. There was another new series called Darker Than Black that came out sometime this year; it actually wasn’t that bad too. The animation was really high-quality and the characters were pretty intriguing, plus some of the concepts they used were interesting too. The plot seemed to be the weakest point for me, but maybe that’s just cuz I don’t really get it in the end… XD Looks like I’ll have to wait for the dubbed version!

Soon Yie and I will be leaving for Malaysia on the 4th of December– that’s about 2 weeks away! I’m pretty excited about that since I haven’t been home in close to a year. This time I’ll be home longer than usual cuz I won’t need to follow Soon Yie back here when she starts school earlier, so yay for that! ^_^
